Pune, November 24: Elias Ymer Of Sweden played all round tennis to stop the winning streak of India No 1 Prajnesh Gunneswaran to lift the singles title at the 5th edition KPIT MSLTA ATP Challenger organized by MSLTA and PMDTA and played at the Mhalunge-Balewadi Tennis Complex here today.In a pulsating finals watched by over 2000 spectators the third seeded Elias Ymer stopped event favourite Prajnesh Gunneswaran 6-2, 7-5 in 1 hour 27 minutes in a high quality tennis matchYmer looked in control of the match broke the tired looking Prajnesh in the 6th and 8th game in the first set and in the 12th game at love .It was The second title for Ymer who earlier won on Carpet in Paris three weeks ago , it was the second final in row for Prajnesh and a second loss at Pune have earlier lost 3 years ago to Sadio Dumba of France .Ymer the winner of KPIT Men’s Challenger got $7,200 (Rs 5,25,000) and gain 80 ATP points, while the runners up got $4,053 (Rs. 2,95,000) and 55 ATP points.The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr. Kishor Patil President of PMDTA and Chairman of the organizing committee and MD of KPIT.
